What High-Quality Rehabilitation Means to Us
A physiotherapy-led approach grounded in movement science, international rehabilitation standards, and a commitment to safe, thoughtful care.
How We Help Your Pet
If your pet has hip dysplasia, arthritis, paralysis, or mobility concerns, rehabilitation can help them stay comfortable, strong, and confident.
Every pet begins with our NIMBLE™ Clinical Assessment, where we look at:
How your dog or cat moves
Which joints or muscles are affected
Signs of pain, weakness, or compensation
What exercises and techniques will help
We then build a personalised plan to:
-
Reduce pain
-
Restore mobility
-
Improve strength and stability
-
Protect other joints from overload
-
Support long-term comfort and function
Our goal is clear: Meaningful, safe progress tailored to your pet.

A Physiotherapy-Led Clinic

All assessments and rehabilitation plans at Nimble Paws are led by human-turned-animal physiotherapists with formal canine rehabilitation training.
Our physiotherapy background provides strong foundations in:
Detailed biomechanical and gait analysis
Neuromuscular rehabilitation
Manual therapy skills
Structured exercise progressions
Outcome-based clinical reasoning
We build on this through the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) program by the University of Tennessee — an internationally recognised credential that trains physiotherapists, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians in canine rehabilitation.
These principles shape our NIMBLE™ Clinical Assessment and treatment approach.
Who Does What in Rehabilitation?

This gives you a clear picture of how different professionals support your dog’s rehabilitation, each within their dedicated area of expertise.
How We Maintain High Standards at Nimble Paws
Beyond the CCRP framework, we strengthen our standards through structured mentorship, ongoing education, and close physiotherapist supervision.
Our veterinary technicians undergo a year-long mentorship where they learn:
-
Movement analysis and compensations
-
Foundational manual therapy techniques for supportive roles
-
Principles of therapeutic exercise prescription
-
Basic clinical reasoning
-
Preparing and adjusting equipment safely
-
Assisting during hands-on treatment and exercise setups
After successfully completing this training, they take on more independent supportive tasks within physiotherapist-led sessions and transition into their role in the clinic as rehabilitation technicians.
We also encourage and support them to pursue formal training such as CCRP or other recognised canine rehabilitation certifications, ensuring consistent, high-quality care across the clinic.

Our Commitment to Your Pet

To us, high-quality rehabilitation means:
Clear communication
A structured, thorough assessment
Intentional movement-based treatment
Safe progression
Clearly defined roles within the team
Owner education and empowerment
Every pet deserves rehabilitation that is thoughtful, precise, and grounded in strong clinical reasoning.

That is the standard we uphold at Nimble Paws.
